LOGO WORK

CASE STUDY: HabitU

Create the most visually concise, representative, and future-proof designs for use in all marketing collateral.

OBJECTIVE

Create branding for use on web and print media and subcontract work to a web developer to deliver a website to the client.

DESIGN IS ITERATIVE

I created a design brief for the team to fill out and I got started on sketching out lots of ideas on paper before I took them into Illustrator - a few of which are shown to the left. I went through hundreds of paper sketches and dozens of digital iterations to get to the number 10 logo that is used today for HabitU.

DECIDING ON THE LOGO

I captured a friendly feel that hinted at smart habit tracking and a healthy lifestyle by creating a block H with pill-like leaves to suggest a healthy yet growing outlook on habits and getting a to do list finished.

MAKING A WEBSITE

I worked closely with my web developer to decide on the layout of how copy would be placed and how we wanted responsive interfaces to behave with an end user. I created a template with filler text and sent it off to the web developer.

Because this web app would include transactions, I wanted to make the website as clean and trustworthy as possible, including just enough white space to make HabitU look just as established as any other tech company. I based the website design on the logo itself, making sure to include white space, mirror the color schemes, incorporate the curves and personality of the logo, and create a universal feeling to HabitU's brand.
